Admissions Overview
NCCL School admits students without regard to race, color, religious belief, ancestry, or national origin. Admissions decisions are made by the staff, based on the needs of the school. Before a child enters the school, we like to interview both parents and have the child visit the school for at least a day. Our goal is to have a school population that is well-balanced as to age and gender, with a variety of children from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, and parents who support our educational goals and methods. We are able to accommodate a small percentage of students with special needs. Priority is given to siblings of children already enrolled in the school.
Applications are accepted at any time for any school year. All else being equal, openings are offered in order of application date.
NCCL offers open houses twice a year.

A $1,000 security deposit must be paid in full upon submission of the first enrollment contract. The security deposit is refunded when your child leaves the school if all obligations have been met.
Both parents/guardians are required to sign a Service Requirement Contract indicating how they would like to fulfill the following requirements:
- Committee Work -- Each parent/guardian is required to contribute at least 20 hours of work per year to the school through its committee system - OR - pay $250 each in lieu of committee participation.
- Co-op Hours -- Each parent/guardian is required to do 8 co-op hours over the summer during 4 scheduled Saturday work days (or arrange for make-up hours) - OR - pay $250 each in lieu of co-op hours participation. After the contract is signed (after May 1 for continuing families) the buyout fee is $320.
- Cleaning -- Each family is required to clean about once a month on a weekend during the school year - OR - pay $460 per family in lieu of participation.
